the name of a shoe worn in the late 70s..i think called soloteos?
these where mens leather soled and uppers…they had like flaps on the front which went over each other …sure they where called solotteo or somethink sounding like that..but cant find any results i had many pairs in differant colours..they where expensive about £25 in the 70s…also we used to have them repaired by a cobbler and put segs on the back heel..it made a clicking noise when you walked…used to wear them for dancing a wigans all nighters
OMG, yes. Salatio’s or slats we called them.
All the guys wore them with the oxford bags…the girls wore flats (granny shoes) and huge flared skirts, we used to twirl and show our knickers !!
