Velour seats in a 2001 VW Jetta TDI?
I am having a terrible time to clean the lint from velvet seats. I wonder if static? I have tried a vacuum cleaner, brushes, wet rag, a brush, the roller type tape clothing. Not seem to matter what I try because none of these tools is removed down of the seats. The best thing I've found is to use a leather glove and only clean the lint from the seats, but still does not do a very good job. In a few days look as bad as before. It is shameful that people sit in the car with me. They are afraid to be on their clothes when they leave. A vacuum with or without the beater brush does not remove none of that. It does not matter what time of year is, if too dry or too moist. Has anyone else had this problem?
Just make sure you fuzzy dice and pine air freshener to forgive all your guests.

Vinyl and Leather Dying
It is surprisingly easy to change the color of the interior vinyl or leather, or to improve the appearance of greater interior. Today there is some tint products that can penetrate the material and produce great results. In the past, the best he could do with aftermarket products was to cover the interior material, instead of truly dying. The older products that crack, chip and peel. Since the products are really new dyes, they stay put. In addition, not dispose of his clothing.
The key to die interior materials is to properly prepare the materials before the effective implementation of the dyes. Materials should be very clean. Leather and vinyl treatments should be stripped away to promote proper adhesion of the new dye. It also helps expose the most old dye as possible.
Once the surfaces of materials have been prepared, the dye can be sprayed with a low pressure / low volume gun. It is important to spray several light coats of stain so it can soak into the material and adhere properly. Some people make the mistake of spraying on the dye thick coats, thinking that will lead to a better job. This is not true at all. A thick layer can cause "blinding" in the material. Blinding means that the dye covers more than vinyl or leather texture instead of letting the ink flow small crack in each subject.
Most dyes can be sprayed on. Brush the stain is not a good idea as you will be able to see the brush marks. This will result in poor finish and will not seek new and natural. Depending on the size of the job, a compressor and spray gun may or may not be necessary. For smaller jobs are not cheap self-guns. They work well for the do-it-yourselfer who probably has only a few small jobs to die than do.
You can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars to change or improve the interior of a vehicle with dyes instead of buying new interiors. And it is very easy to do.
